Selling ebooks on ebay is very popular at the moment and the demand for them is very high. Some sellers actually make a full time income just by selling ebooks on ebay, and a very good income at that.  Selling ebooks, and in particular your own ebook is one of the most profitable businesses on the internet.

There are two ways in which you can obtain ebooks to sell on ebay.

1. You can purchase ebooks with resell rights.  If you buy resell rights to a product you are free to resell that product. You can only sell the actual product but can’t sell the resell rights to the product.  Which is ok for buying to sell on ebay. However, if you would like to offer your customers the resell rights to your ebooks – which can increase their value – you will need to purchase ebooks with Master Resell Rights.  This means that you can resell the product plus sell the resell rights to the product.

If you would like to buy an ebook that you would like to perhaps change around a little and give it your own personal touch, then you will need to buy an ebook with Private Label Resell Rights. This means that you have the rights to change the product and change the author name to your own name.  PLR rights are very good because you really have the ultimate ownership of that product and can do much more with it, including adding some affiliate links within the ebook.

If you are not experienced enough in a particular field to write your own ebook, then purchasing an ebook with PLR rights is a good place to start.  You will have much of the information you need already in the ebook, and all you need to do is change it a little.

2. You can write your own ebook.  Ultimately, this is the best option as you have 100% ownership of the product and can do absolutely anything you want with it. You can write ebooks about almost anything, so there is a good chance that you have interest that you have enough knowledge about to create your own ebook.

If you do need some more knowledge than you personally have, you can quite quickly and easily research the topic on the internet or in books and find some more information.  Always make sure when you find any information from the internet or books, never copy the information straight from the source, always make sure you write it in your own words.

Selling ebooks is quite popular due to the fact that once you have your ebook written and all ready to sell, there are very little costs after that point.  No continued purchasing costs that you would have if you were selling physical products. 

You can sell your ebooks on ebay or also from your own website.  Once your ebooks are set up the only continued costs you will have are your ebay fees or website hosting fees.  So when you price your ebooks, make sure you take into account your fees.

Having said that, you do not need to be an expert to write an ebook.  If you have knowledge within the topic that you wish to write about then that is a great start.  If it is a topic that you have an abundance of experience with or perhaps a hobby that you have, then you should easily be able to write an ebook on the topic. If there is a topic that you would like to write about but you do not have quite enough experience or knowledge to write an entire ebook, then there are many options to find the information you need. You will find a ton of information on any topic on the internet, in books, or at the library.  As long as you do not break any copyright laws and copy information word for word, then you can use the information and put it into your own wording.

Once you have all the information you need to write your ebook, then you will need to sit down and start taking notes.  It is helpful to start of with a list of points you wish to cover, once you have a list of all your points then sort them into the order of which they should appear within your ebook. Once you have done this, then most of the hard work is over.  That is probably the hardest part to writing an ebook is getting started and making the list of everything you want to include.

Start your ebook off with an introduction and explain briefly what your ebook is about and perhaps some history which brought you to writing your ebook. Once you have your introduction then go through all your points that you listed and expand on them.  Each point can be used as a chapter within your ebook.  If you find it difficult to sit and write a full chapter about one of your points, then list more points for that particular point.  Then expand on each of those points. This can be one of the easiest ways to write an ebook.  List your points and then expand on them.  In no time at all you will have an ebook full of some great information.

A good place to start in writing an ebook is to read one or more ebooks on your chosen topic. Do not ever copy any information from someone else’s ebook but you can use the information to get some ideas.  It is also a good idea to read other ebooks to find out if there is any information that you may have that these ebooks don’t have. You can also research the internet or books from home or the library to find more information on your product.  You may be able to find information from newspapers or news programs, information that is new and not yet included in online products. Your ideas don’t necessarily have to be new either; old ideas can always be improved upon.  If you have knowledge of a particular topic then there is no reason why you can’t write an ebook about the topic.

Once you have your research and know what you want to write about, then sit down and list some points.  These points may be your chapter titles and once you have enough chapters to write, then you can start writing each chapter. Always start your book with an introduction and it is a good idea to include a copyright statement. Start with your first point or chapter and then list a few points about that chapter.  Once you have some points, then you can expand those points into paragraphs. Once your first chapter is completed then move on to the next.  This can be one of the best and easiest methods to write ebooks by using points and expanding on them. Finish your ebook with a conclusion and it is often a good idea to have a bit about the author at the end.  If you have more than one ebook, this section is a good chance to mention your other products.

The price you charge for your ebook will depend on how much information you are offering and also the quality of information.  Never just put a heap of rubbish together on a few pages and charge $50 for it, you will get a bad name very quickly.  Always use good quality information in your products. Try to write your ebook in easy to read language.  There is nothing worse than reading ebooks that are very technical and hard to understand.  Most people will prefer to read ebooks that are easy to read. Use a font type and size that is easy to read also.  Don’t double space just to fill in room and make your book look longer.  People are not stupid, if you do this they will think they have been ripped off by purchasing a half empty book.

An ebook of 20 pages or less is considered to be more of a report than an ebook.  You are not likely to get a huge price for a product this size.  If you want an ebook that you can price well, and then try to make it at least 30 or 40 pages, and a $50 ebook, you will be looking at having at least 80 plus pages. Never get greedy and overprice your products.  You want to have happy customers; you don’t want too many people asking for refunds because they don’t think they got their moneys worth.  You especially don’t want people giving you a bad review on your book, many people do some research and read reviews before buying ebooks.

Having a good quality book will give you good reviews, happy customers and you will likely do very well with your product.
